The politically bankrupt Tamil Nadu politicians such as former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and Y. Gopalaswamy are making adverse comments to mislead the Tamil diaspora according to former LTTE strong man Kumaran Pathmanathan (KP).

KP who is currently in Mullaitivu told Ceylon Today former Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi has set up a body called Tamil Eelam Support Organization (TESO). The organization reflects the political bankruptcy of Karunanidhi in Tamil Nadu politics.” If Karunanidhi is really interested in the well being of the Sri Lankan Tamils he should look at ways of finding a solution to the Tamil issue on the island. In one of his recent comments he has said that he would campaign until his death to create a separate state for Tamils in Sri Lanka. The veteran Tamil Nadu politician should understand that Tamils in Sri Lanka paid a heavy price for the struggle they launched to create a separate state. Therefore, no wise man would call for a separate state as a solution to the Sri Lankan Tamil problem. So Karunanidhi is making a blunder by coming out with adverse comments to mislead the Tamil diaspora and blocking their way in supporting the post-war peace building efforts “ Pathmanathan said.

KP was in Mulliyavalai area the former strong hold of the LTTE where a mega religious event was held at the historic Hindu shrine Wattrapalai Amman Temple on Poya Day.

“After several years the Hindus from various parts of the Jaffna Peninsula took part in large numbers at the festival .The message I had got from the festival was that the people want to live in peace, leaving behind the war that had ruined their lives for three decades. The areas affected by war in Kilinochchi and Mullaithivu Districts are gradually limping back to normalcy. The Tamils in Sri Lanka want to live in dignity with peace. Even the legislators representing them in the political mainstream have denounced separatism and are exploring ways of finding an amicable settlement to the Tamil question. So the Tamil Nadu politicians Karunanidhi, Waiko, Nedumaran and Thirumavalan want the Sri Lankan Tamil problems to go on so that they can survive politically. They have also misled the Tamil diaspora by their meaningless speeches and comments” Pathmananthan said.
