Children in North assisted by Sri Lanka Army

Extending its community welfare initiatives, Sri Lanka Army donated nutritious food packs at a function held at Maruthankerny government hospital recently.

The event was organized by the 55 Division at Kaddaikadu with the sponsorship of Delmage Marketing (Pvt) Ltd in Colombo.

A total of 3000 nutritious packs worth over Rs. 1.1 million were distributed on recommendation of Jaffna health authorities during the function.

The parents of the children expressed their appreciation to the military authorities for assisting their children.

Meanwhile 521 Brigade of Sri Lanka Army organized a dental clinic for the Schoolchildren at Thumpalai Sivaprakash school in Point Pedro last week.

The event was organized with the intention of improving the health and sanitation of students of the school with the assistance of Manthikai hospital and Mobile Dental Service Unit.

A number of 378 students were examined during the clinic and 72 students were given treatments for their dental problems by the team of doctors.
