Wedding bells for Sinhala, Tamil couple
Sirimal Prasanna Kumara, 22, a Corporal of the Sri Lanka Army took the hand of Mary Teresa, 20, a Tamil by birth from Mullaitivu as his life partner at the nuptial ceremony held at the Thanniruviru Christian Church on Saturday in the presence of high ranking Army officials.
Sirimal is the son of S Siripala and Geetha and Teresa is the daughter of Veeraiah Jesudasan and V Janenona. All were present to bless the new couple, a symbol of unity of two nationalities.
The wedding ceremony was attended by Mullaitivu District Secretary N Vedanayagam, Brigadier S D B Panawala, T P Jayawardena S K G N B Ehalamalpe, A S Weerawardene and other officials of the Sri Lanka Army.
