‘Sri Lanka pioneered in defeating terrorism and strengthening development’ - Lokuge
"Sri Lanka can be introduced as a pioneer that waged a war against the world’s strongest terrorist organization while simultaneously implementing a massive development programme ensuring the livelihood for every citizen of this country. The aim of the present government headed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to achieve development goals to give meaning to peace achieved after eradicating terrorism. As beneficiaries of peace it is our duty to extend our fullest cooperation to the government."
This is was expressed by the, Minister of Sports and Public Recreation, Gamini Lokuge, at the meeting held after the opening of the Ranaviru house built with financial assistance of Ocean View Development Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd., under the Ranaviru Housing Development Programme of the National Housing Development Authority for war hero, Harshana Pradeep Kumara of Kesbewa, Piliyandala.
Housing Development Programme in honour of war heroes has been implemented In all districts by the National Housing Development Authority under the instructions of the Minister of Housing and Common Amenities, Mrs. Ferial Ashraff. The Ranaviru house built in Colombo District under this programme for the war hero, Harshana Pradeep Kumara who laid down his life in Mulaitivu Operation. The National Housing Development Authority has completed the construction of this house in a short period of one month.
Gamini Lokuge speaking further, after handing over the ownership to the wife and the parents of war hero, said "I am meeting you after fulfilling a special duty on behalf of the nation." There hadn’t been an atmosphere a few months before to gather people and politicians to participate in this kind of meetings. All ethnic groups of our country are now living without fear and suspicion. Various state leaders had made attempts to end the 30 year long conflict, however their attempts failed. Now the peace has dawn to our country under the foresighted leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa due to the contribution of valiant soldiers like Harshana Pradeep Kumara.
"Thousands have lost their lives and lakhs have lost their dwellings due to this cruel war. A large number people living in relief villages in North and majority of them prefers to live with the rest of the ethnic groups of this country. However there can be persons with connections to terrorism. The main challenge faced by the government is to identify them and make them useful citizens. This cannot be achieved in a short period of time. The aim of the government is to strengthen the development activities while socializing them to give meaning to the cessation of hostilities. We should pay of our gratitude to the valiant soldiers in whatever possible manner. Today National Housing Development Authority has fulfilled this national task. This is an exemplary act. Today we have paid our highest gratitude to this soldier and to his parents, wife and the child," Lokuge further said.
Chairman of Kesbewa Urban Council, Lenard Karunaratne, Members of Western Provincial Council, Gamini Silva and Sunil Jayamini, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Common Amenities, S. M. A. L. Gunatilake, District Secretary, Colombo, J. Silvestor, General Manager, National Housing Development Authority, L. S. Palansuriya, Deputy General Manager, Ocean View Development Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd. Kusala Samatha Edirisinghe, District Manager/Colombo-National Housing Development Authority and W. J. S. Dias, together with government officials and people of the area participated.
Over 40,000 IDPs being resettled in 4 Northern Districts
The resettlement process of Internally Displaced Persons to former LTTE controlled areas in Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Mannar and Kilinochchi began this morning, (Oct 22). A total of 41685 IDPs have begun the resettlement process in these Districts.
Under this process, 8643 persons of 2583 families will be resettled in Vavuniya District while 6631 persons from 2644 families will be resettled in Mannar District.
16394 persons of 4415 families will be resettled in Mullaitivu District and another group of 10017 persons of 2453 families will be resettled in Kilinochchi District.
Meanwhile the government has taken many actions to assist the IDPs to resume routine activities.
Almost 40,000 children are attending classes in welfare centers and that the government had facilitated 1,187 students to sit the GCE/ Advanced Level examination in August this year of which 166 were LTTE surrendees. This clearly reflects the emphasis the Government had placed on the long term welfare of the IDPs.
A notable progress has also been made in the health sector with the reduction of annual mortality rates to only 4.4 per 1000 in the welfare centers in Vavuniya, which is compatible with any other part of the country, symbolizing the significant achievement in stabilization of the health facilities for the IDPs.
The letter given by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to each IDP family that is being resettled from today.
My Dear Citizens
I write to you at an important time you when you are on the threshold of a new beginning in life. You are today being moved to the familiar surroundings of your former home, or very close to it.
I am aware that the sufferings your family have undergone are many, and for very long too. These hardships were imposed on you and all other Tamil citizens who have suffered alike, by a ruthless organization that was committed to terror to achieve its narrow objectives, for which the Tamil people were made unwilling pawns. They claimed to be the liberators of the noble Tamil community. As their strategies began to fail, you were herded from place to place, and denied the food, medicine and other essentials that were sent for you. Your children, and even the elders among you, were compelled to carry arms for these forces of terror..
I fully understand that this was not the aspiration of the Tamil people of our country. Finally, you were made displaced persons in your own motherland, after holding you as human shields and hostages for the safety of those who shed so much blood of your own people. Your innocence in all this is recognized today.
That period of immense tragedy is now over, as are the temporary hardships you faced as internally displaced persons. You are moving on to a new life, in the company of family and friends. You will find new and welcome challenges of the future. My Government has done much to make your new life most acceptable to you, providing the needs for a quality of life to enhance your dignity as a person.
The most cherished asset you have today are your children, who you have sheltered as best as your could. This is the time to ensure that your children are guided by you to benefit from the new facilities that are being provided for them and ensure that they are never again allowed to be misled by false prophets or saviours. Together you can build a new life and look to benefit from the many opportunities that will be available in the tranquility of peace and friendship.
I wish you and your family every success and the choicest blessings for the future, with your dreams of success coming true, when we can all live together as members of a single family in our motherland.
Sincerely

Raj Rajaratnam was a leading donor of money to LTTE - KP says
Raj Rajaratnam was a leading donor of money to LTTE - KP says
(By :Walter Jayawardhana)
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam's arms procurer and later leader Kumar Pathmanadan under interrogation has revealed that US citizen Raj Rajaratnam who was arrested by the FBI had been a leading contributor of money to the terrorist group, Sri Lanka government sources said.
These contributions are intricately connected with the opposition politicians outside the LTTE but implementing a parallel political agenda with the terrorist group, the sources said. The LTTE also known as the Tamil Tigers with its fronts is a proscribed terrorist group in the United States.
Sources close to the government said these revelations about Raj Rajaratnam's contributions to the terrorist group tally with some findings of United States investigations.
KP who was arrested in a Kulalumpur Hotel is now in the custody of the Sri Lanka government being interrogated about the elaborate LTTE connections about its leading donors, influential Western connections who were on its pay roll, earnings of the group on drug and gun running and its intricate business empire.
KP has revealed that Raj Rajaratnam who was nabbed by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) after listening to him by wire taps for criminal insider trading scams has given money lavishly for the terrorist group and its Western sympathizer individuals.
KP's evidence of the LTTE receiving money from America's biggest swindler of its stock market have been collaborated by two letters now in the hands of the US intelligence.
The money of Raj Rajaratnam became the subject of litigation in Sri Lanka long before he was nabbed by the FBI. The state owned Sunday Observer of Colombo, pointed out when Raj Rajaratnam was arrested that the person involved in the case against the United National Party (UNP) stalwart and former Minister of Trade Ravi Karunanayaka of having sent one million US dollars to Karunanayaka was Raj Rajaratnam himself. In that case under Sri Lanka's Exchange Control Act Karunanayaka was prosecuted as an individual cannot receive foreign money without the sanction of the government.
Colombo High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundera enlarged Mr. Karunanayake on bail on the 10th of July this year after conducting inquiries. He was granted a cash bail of 100,000 Rupees and a personal bail of one million Rupees. The High Court also barred Ravi Karunanayake from leaving the country without its permission.
New Zealand’s Complicity in Sri Lanka’s Civil WarPosted on June 9th, 2009
by Roshan Mendis June 2009
In the aftermath of the end of the civil war in Sri Lanka, New Zealand should re-examine the small but potentially incendiary role it may have inadvertently played in the conflict. In 2005, New Zealand’s Agency for International Development (NZAID) handed over $121,500 in tsunami relief funds to the Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation (TRO), an organisation long suspected of being a front for the Tamil Tigers. That same year, the TRO had its charitable status revoked in Britain because it had “not been able to account satisfactorily for the application of funds.” Two years later, the TRO was blacklisted in the US on the grounds that it was raising funds and seeking to procure weapons for the Tigers. Despite assurances by the New Zealand government that it has not subsequently given funds to the TRO, it continues to hand over tens of thousands of dollars of tax payers’ money to community organisations that have functioned as a mouthpiece for the Tamil Tigers.
George Arulanantham, Coordinator of the Consortium of Tamil Associations in New Zealand (COTANZ) in Auckland (www.cotanz.org.nz), is on public record as declaring his support for the Tamil Tigers. In an interview he gave to Eugene Bingham from the New Zealand Herald in 2002, he said, “We are supporters of the LTTE – we feel they are freedom fighters.” This same George Arulanantham is also on the Board of Advisors for the Tamil Community Education (www.tamileducation.org.nz), an organisation that has received funding from the New Zealand Ministry of Education, Auckland City Council and the Lottery Board, yet has made no effort to conceal its indoctrination of Tamil children, including the glorification of the Tamil Tigers at recent ‘cultural’ functions.
But Arulanantham’s involvement extends well beyond Tamil community groups. He is also an Executive member of the Refugee Council of New Zealand (www.rc.org.nz) and an Executive member of Ethnic Voice New Zealand Incorporated (www.ethnicvoice.co.nz), a national community organisation that has received financial support from the Office of Ethnic Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development. Ethnic Voice New Zealand Inc professes a goal of “fostering collaborative relationships between the ethnic communities in New Zealand and the government agencies.” One only hopes that Mr Arulanantham, keen fan of the Tigers that he is, is not too eager to introduce their trademark methods of ‘fostering collaborative relationships between the ethnic communities’ – ethnic cleansing, civilian massacres and political assassinations – into New Zealand. Incidentally, Arulanantham’s daughter, Nirupa, is also allegedly a self-described ‘Tamil Tiger Supporter’. Yet, perversely, she also holds office in the United Nations Youth Association of New Zealand and was a coordinator of this year’s Human Rights Film Festival, an event supported by the Ministry of Justice and Amnesty International.
The now defeated Tamil Tigers are banned as a terrorist group in over 30 countries including Britain, Canada and the US. They were infamous for recruiting thousands of child soldiers and dispatching hundreds of suicide bombers during their protracted campaign for a separate Tamil homeland. Less well known in the West is the Tigers’ long involvement in global narcotics trafficking and people smuggling. George Arulanantham is entitled to his own personal views, even though his self-professed support for the Tamil Tigers would be a criminal offence in a number of other Western countries. But the fact that an individual who so blatantly supports the Tamil Tigers is allowed to hold high public office in New Zealand is a disgrace. That New Zealand taxpayers’ money may have been utilized for Tamil Tiger activities (masquerading as ‘community development’ or ‘cultural’ programmes) must be thoroughly investigated. And how Ms George, an outspoken supporter of the Tamil Tigers, can be allowed to sit on a Human Rights body in New Zealand without provoking a national outcry is frankly bizzare.
New Zealand must pull its head out from under the sand and move immediately to deny sanctuary and support to those who seek to provide succour to extremist organizations. To this end, the National party-led Government of Prime Minister John Key should follow through on its 2008 election campaign pledge to proscribe various nefarious groups, including the Tamil Tigers, as terrorist entities. This is all the more important at this critical juncture when the Tigers are pinning their hopes for revival on the concerted efforts of the diaspora in the West. Migrants to New Zealand must not be allowed to abuse the freedoms we all enjoy in this beautiful country to foment violence and hatred in their countries of origin.
Open letter to Murray McCully, New Zealand Minister of Foreign AffairsPosted on June 16th, 2009
Roshan Mendis NEW ZEALAND
Dear Mr McCully,
I am deeply concerned that the National-led government has failed to designate the Tamil Tigers as a terrorist entity, despite pre-election pledges by National to move swiftly to bring New Zealand into line with our like minded allies on this issue. I refer to your newsletter of 8 August, 2008, in which you categorically assert, “‘That the Tamil Tigers are fully fledged terrorists is beyond dispute.”
In the aftermath of the end of the civil war in Sri Lanka, the Tigers are pinning all their hopes for revival on the concerted efforts of the diaspora. Unable to directly raise funds or operate effectively in Australia, Canada, the US or the EU, New Zealand is increasingly becoming the country of choice for the Tigers to regroup and reorganize. LTTE cells operating in Auckland and Wellington have assumed responsibility for fundraising and procurement efforts throughout Australasia, previously co-ordinated from Melbourne. Emboldened by the Government’s inaction, certain front organizations have even used taxpayer-funded community grants to print Tamil Tiger posters and flags for so-called ‘cultural’ functions. It seems incredible that the Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) continues to function openly in this country (with a registered address of 371 Dominion Road, Mt. Eden, Auckland) despite being unequivocally exposed as a front for the Tamil Tigers. Just this week, four Tamil defendants on trial in New York pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to the LTTE by laundering millions of dollars through the TRO.
I understand that the reluctance to proscribe the Tamil Tigers derives from historical concerns in some quarters that doing so during the ceasefire period would destabilize the peace process, and that doing so during the fighting would make the Tigers less inclined to agree to a future ceasefire. Clearly, both these concerns are no longer valid. I have to wonder then why the government continues to drag its feet on this important issue. I sincerely hope that your government has not compromised on its earlier principled position on this matter as a result of the sustained and intense lobbying it has come under by a section of the Tamil community. While moving to designate the Tamil Tigers would no doubt ruffle the feathers of some of the Tamil community residing here, the overwhelming majority of South Asian immigrants in New Zealand would be strongly supportive of such a move. I need not remind you that among the large Indian diaspora resident in New Zealand, there is no love for the Tamil Tigers, particularly since the organization assassinated former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.
In the event, I would be grateful for your responses to the following:
1) Do you still consider the Tamil Tigers to be ‘fully fledged terrorists’ as per your assertion in 2008?
2) Are you aware that the LTTE has stepped up its activities in New Zealand in recent months?
3) Do you still consider it necessary to use the post-September 11 toolkit of counter-terrorism legislation to make groups such as the Tamil Tigers subject to special scrutiny from counter terrorism authorities?
3) Has the government abandoned plans to designate the Tamil Tigers as a terrorist organization? If so, what is the basis for this change of position?
I look forward to your reply to my specific queries at your earliest possible convenience.
Many thanks,
Kind regards,
Roshan Mendis
Calls For Boycott Of Sporting And Economic Ties With Sri Lanka Will Not WorkPosted on June 15th, 2009
Press Release: New Zealand Society for Peace Unity and Human Rights
We have seen recent news reports that a section of New Zealand Tamils supporting the international terrorist organization LTTE has suggested that the New Zealand Government should cancel the Black Caps’ Sri Lankan cricket tour and should also boycott Sri Lankan goods as a retaliation for defeating terrorism within Sri Lanka in the recently concluded war.
This agitation follows the unsuccessful attempt made by Tamils living in foreign countries to influence the western world to cause an inquiry on the civil war by the UN Human Rights Commission. At the Commission’s sessions held on 27 May 2009 an overwhelming majority of 29 countries out of 47, with 6 countries abstaining, ruled that no investigation against Sri Lanka is necessary.
In such a backdrop, “New Zealand Society for Peace, Unity and Human Rights in Sri Lanka (SPUR NZ)” would like to denounce the demand by LTTE supporters in New Zealand for an economic and sports boycott of Sri Lanka that might seriously damage friendly bi-lateral relationships. It would also cause substantial economic consequences for both countries.
Although we are very positive that the New Zealand Government will not even take any note of these demands, it is interesting to ponder on the potential repercussions of such a scenario.
At present the bi-lateral relationship between the two countries are maintained at an excellent level. The trade and other business relationships are expanding rapidly. Skills of the Sri Lankans of all ethnic groups i.e. Sinhala, Tamil and Moslem are utilized very productively by New Zealand to its quest for economic recovery.
At present, a major share of the Sri Lankan imports to New Zealand consists of Dilmah Tea. Its popularity built on the excellent quality. Sri Lankan Cricket and Dilmah Tea have gone hand in hand in New Zealand !
Ironically, that the immediate and direct sufferers from a boycott of Sri Lankan tea will be the Tamil tea estate workers in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. On the other hand the importers and distributors of Sri Lankan food stuffs to New Zealand are the Tamil businessmen and any boycott of these goods will force them to close their shops putting the jobs of a number of Tamils who work in these establishments in jeopardy.
For most of the New Zealanders, Sri Lanka is synonymous with Dilmah Tea and Sri Lanka Cricket. Similarly for most of the Sri Lankans, New Zealand is synonymous with Anchor Milk and Black Caps Cricket Team.
Sri Lanka is New Zealand’s fifth largest market for milk powder products and it is growing year on year. It is reported that Fonterra Brands Lanka, the producers and distributors of Anchor Milk in Sri Lanka, has an annual milk food market worth of $286m in 2009. It is projected to grow up to $419m in 2012. The majority of the milk imports to Sri Lanka (94 per cent) are from New Zealand that includes 40,000 tonnes of milk powder from the Te Rapa and Te Awamutu sites in the Waikato, according to a news report published in April 2009 by Taranaki Daily News. Recently, Fonterra built a $12.2 million culture food manufacturing plant alongside its two existing plants in Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan Minister of Livestock Development C B Ratnayake has recently said that the SL government wanted to continue working with Fonterra to expand the dairy industry after the war is ended. He wanted greater production from Sri Lankan cows and to open up newly liberated land in the North and East of the country to dairying – and he wanted Fonterra’s help to make it happen due to the name and the confidence the company has created among the Sri Lankan consumer. It is abundantly clear that through bi-lateral trade and economic relations populations of both countries are mutually helping each other. A disruption will not be tolerated by any body.
A great opportunity is now available for the Sri Lankans living around the globe to get involved in creating more economic opportunities to their brethren living in the liberated areas in the North and East. Those people living in the in the North and East of Sri Lanka need every assistance to resume their life, and rehabilitation and re-construction of these areas is THE PRORITY.
What the Tamil Community living in New Zealand should do at this juncture is to promote the bi-lateral relationships and economic activities between the two countries further rather than advocating a boycott.
New Zealand's role in Sri Lanka's civil war

Is New Zealand inadvertently supporting the cause of the Tamil Tigers?

Channel 4 TV Must Eat Its Digits – Fake Execution Video Exposed!
Mon, 2009-08-31 05:07 — editor
London, 31 August, (Asiantribune.com):
Channel 4 TV, an obvious victim of the current economic crisis engulfing the United Kingdom due to advertising famine, extended its doctrine of self-righteousness by telecasting an execution video, allegedly committed by the Sri Lankan armed forces last week.
The Asian Tribune has obtained the expert-evidence to prove that the video has been doctored to cater for the right audience – the human-rights body who normally turns its back on human-wrongs and the league with vested interests those who are determined to tarnish the image of Sri Lanka at a time that it tries to stand on its feet.
The motive of the telecast by the particular TV channel is blindingly obvious: first of all, it needs stories to be seen as a big player among the TV audience in the UK, having been fed up with itself being in the shadow of the big players like the BSKYB and BBC; secondly, it has an axe to grind with the Government of Sri Lanka, since the unceremonious removal of its television crew in the middle of another questionable venture at the peak of the last phase of the war.
So, the bosses of the Channel 4 started doing what they normally are good at – mud-slinging at a nation which just began recovering from thirty years of endless suffering. It wants to bring the nation down to its knees both economically and politically – and then boast about the mantra ‘We told you so’.
However, its ambitious campaign has all the hall marks of an inauspicious start: it interviewed KP, the newly appointed head of the LTTE, only to see him being captured spectacularly at a spot in South East Asia; then the Channel 4 went on to publish an execution video, which an expert in the digital technology proves as a fake, for the Asian Tribune.
Siri Hewa, the former head of Cisco’s global broadcast and digital video practice, at Present I am executive Director at IPTV System, who currently serves as the chief architect of Optus’ Network Systems Design Broadcast and Satellite TV operation has uncovered evidence of doctoring in the original footage telecast by the Channel 4. It shows the extent to which the bosses of Channel 4 go in combining malice and ignorance in equal measure.
Siri Hewa analyses the startling findings for the Asain Tribune this way:
“Looking at the footage first thing I found strange was the high quality of the video, lack of cascading effects and motion blur that associate with mobile video coding. I got hold of the original video that was in QuickTime format as well as the other that was in AVI format and decided to put through various analysers to see origin of the video from the mobile source.
Looking at the results, I can say this video never came from a mobile phone, since the original video is of quite high standard and motion vectors were of high quality ( that never come from mobile phone) and I also found that the Tamilnet tried to put this video in 3GPP format which is associated with mobile phones.
This also give some clues since mobile phones or older got 3GPP format; I was involved with global Broadcast R&G for almost 25 years and Channel 4 used to have good people; it has gone for gutter journalism in recent years. Any sensible broadcast Engineer should have picked up the lack of cascading errors on the video since Channel 4 use Flash format on their web site.”
Channel 4 highlighted the need for an investigation for war crimes on the following grounds: the executioners were in Sri Lankan army uniform; and they spoke Sinhala.
It forgot the fact that this was the most ruthless terrorist organization in the world – banned in its own country and whole civilized world - which was prepared to send pregnant women and teenagers on suicide missions without any hesitation. So, the attempted portrayal of the tendency of such an outfit to respect conventions – violating the dress code of a conventional army - is something for a good laugh, not to for serious debate.
Its possession of army uniform is well-documented as it launched many attacks against many vital installations disguising themselves in army uniforms. Furthermore, the ability of a Tamil man to speak English is nothing extraordinary; there are lots of Tamils who speak Sinhal as fluently as a native Sinhalese. These don’t form the grounds for launching a war crime probe – by wasting millions of dollars from the coffers of the UN.
There is another important development to note in the video from medical point of view: the man can be seated in that position only as long he is alive. The moment he dies he has to fall either forward or sideways, because the centre of the brain which controls his balance ceases to function. As anyone who has seen an actual execution by a firing squad (or a video of it) would have observed, even if the body were kept erect by some means, such as by tying to a pole, the head will not stay erect after the man is executed. It slumps either sideways or forwards.
Since nothing of this sort happen in the two instances which show 'executions' in this video, it has all the ingredients of movie-making for a purpose. In both instances you hear the firing of a gun, but the man who is supposed to have been executed continues to sit in the same posture as he was before the gun was fired. What it goes to prove is that the execution is just 'theatric' and the man being "executed" is only an actor.
The Asian Tribune learns from very reliable sources that the video has actually been made in Sri Lanka – but not by a mobile phone, as Siri Hewa quite rightly found out. It was then passed on to Tiger sympathisers in Germany who in turn doctored it in a very amateurish way. The scoop-hungry Channel 4 just played into the hands of these elements.
An ex- big Tiger tells us there were no bearded Tigers in the organization with a comical explanation – a goatee could not co-habit with a Tiger for long for obvious reasons! Therefore, the bearded victim at gun point could be an actor, indeed.
Channel 4 has a lot of explaining to do in the light of both digital and medical evidence, if it wants to keep the erosion of what is left of its credibility at bay. Chasing after illusive goalpost of ranking at the expense of media-ethics is damaging the television industry in general and the British broadcasting in particular, which used to be respected for its fairness.
The most honourable thing for the bosses of this particular TV channel to do on this occasion is to put the hands up say, “We got it wrong and please forgive us, Sri Lanka!” However, if they wish they can use the footage for an entertainment programme under the caption ‘Optical Illusions’. It is not too late to perform both in the name of commonsense.

Heroic Sri Lankan troops march in Libiyan National Day Parade
(By: Walter Jayawardhana)
A team of heroic Sri Lankan forces who disproved to the world the popular Western notion that terrorism cannot be defeated were scheduled to join in the 40th National Day parade in Tripoli, Libya exhibiting the strong Libyan-Sri Lankan friendship, government sources said.
The Sri Lankan troops flown to Tripoli, were met by Libyan leader Muammar Al Gaddaffi, last night (Sep 1), to show Libya's gratitude and personally thank them for their participation in the 40th National Day parade which was scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Libyan time. The charismatic Libyan leader also presented the Sri Lankan troops with mementoes when he met them.
During the morning hours before the parade President Mahinda Rajapaksa spent his time strengthening Sri Lanka's bilateral relations with the only other Asian nations participating in the 40th National Day celebrations of Libya by meeting President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousouf Raza Gilani.
The President of the Philippines Gloria Arroyo told President Mahinda Rajapaksa that she very much appreciated the achievements of the Sri Lankan troops in eliminating terrorism from the country. She said her country was willing to solicit Sri Lanka's experiences in achieving the heroic feat, which would be an example to the whole world.
During the discussions with Prime Minister Raza Gilani President Mahinda Rajapaksa talked on topics that would strengthen more the already existing strong bonds between the two countries. The Pakistani Prime Minister also reiterated his country's already expressed desire to train some Pakistani troops to share Sri Lanka's experiences in routing terrorism.
Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said after the talks with the foreign dignitaries that they not only greatly appreciated Sri Lanka's military achievements in defeating terrorism but also the government's efforts to take rapid development to the areas which have been under the terrorists for more than quarter of a century. They also appreciated Sri Lanka's strong measures to introduce democracy back to those areas.
Minister Bogollagama said, thirty leaders and eighty countries participated in the grand celebrations on September 1, 2009 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Libyan revolution. The presence of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the celebrations has won high acclaims especially of the Moslem nations.
Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yousouf Raza Gilani met President Mahinda Rajapaksa for bi-lateral talks in Tripoli, Libya on September 1 2009. Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama and Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga are sharing the joy of the moment.

Babaric false LTTE propaganda on Channel 4 to hoodwink international community.
An open letter to Chief Executive Officer,Channel 4, P.O.Box 1058, Belfast, BT 1 9DU from Ben Silva, UK.
With reference to the video broadcast by you on the 25th of August 2009, related to Sri Lanka , any one could have dressed up as a Sri Lankan soldier and acted as in the video clip. The back ground Sinhala voices do not appear to convey any meaning.
Although violence against fellow humans is common in the Western culture, such as My lai massacre, Abu Gharaib, Genocide of native American Indians, Nuclear Bombing of Japan, Fire bombing of Dresden and so on, Sri Lankan soldiers kill only in self defence. It is highly unlikely for a Sri Lankan soldier to behave in the manner shown in the video clip.
What is most likely is that this video clip is a fake LTTE propaganda video clip.
It is a shame that you tie up with LTTE , for cheap publicity and sensationalism
It is disgraceful that you are carrying out propaganda for what was known as the deadliest terror organisations in the world, without verifying the authenticity of the broadcast material.
It looks like LTTE have taken a considerable amount of time to produce this fake video clip.
The Government of Sri Lanka rejects Channel 4 story as concoctedPosted on August 26th, 2009

The attention of the Government of Sri Lanka has been drawn to a news item telecast on Channel 4 television in the UK which is also available on the Internet which depicts Sri Lankan forces allegedly committing atrocities against Tamils.
The Government of Sri Lanka strongly and unequivocally denies the allegations contained in the video footage telecast on Channel 4. This footage is diabolical and there is absolutely no truth in its concocted story which is based on this footage. The Government of Sri Lanka is of the view that the purpose of the video, which is evidently orchestrated by LTTE front organizations, is a deliberate and sinister attempt to cause embarrassment and bring disrepute to the Government of Sri Lanka in order to disturb the post conflict developmental and rehabilitation phase.
At a time when the Government of Sri Lanka is focusing on the reconciliation and healing process and rebuild the country, the contents of this video appear to be deliberately intent on tarnishing the sincere efforts and commitment of the Government of Sri Lanka.
“Channel 4″ video false and fabricated – Govt.
Courtesy: President Media Unit
The video footage recently aired on ‘Channel 4′ UK claiming to display alleged atrocities committed by Sri Lankan forces against Tamils is absolutely false and fabricated. It has been deliberately put together to bring disrepute to the Government of Sri Lanka, states the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
The Government of Sri Lanka will make a strong protest to Channel 4 with regard to the contents of this video and also bring the matter to the notice of the relevant authorities, and seek to pursue remedies available with regard to the distortion of truth.
The Government of Sri Lanka view this unsubstantiated and admittedly unverifiable video footage as an attempt by elements opposed to the success of the reconciliation process under way in Sri Lanka and the ongoing efforts to rebuild the country after nearly 30 years of terror by the LTTE.
The Government has reasons to suspect that those who provided this false and doctored footage are those still supportive of LTTE terror, who failed in their attempts to discredit the Sri Lankan government at the recent UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

TITLE OF NEWS ITEM: IS THIS EVIDENCE OF SRI LANKAN ‘WAR CRIMES’?Channel4News – http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/world/asia_pacific/is+this+evidence+of+sri+lankan+aposwar+crimesapos/3321087
The video footage has got typical hallmarks of a doctored Video for every one to notice it. It is visible here that stage played actions were created for the video.
1. The shot fired at the man kneeling down can be heard, but the man is still up, within seconds the body should be either fallen on the ground or should shows signs of the gun shot injury. Both sequential outcomes are missing.
2. When the Gun is fired, gun does not move at all, indicating sound is not synchronised and added later.
2. The Sinhala words they spoke are not coinciding with the sound. `
3. The men lying on the ground seems like actors.
This video should be viewed in the background of other videos/photos made public during the height of the war, for example:
1) a photo given wide publicity of Tamil women and children fleeing rocket fire, which was proved to be FAKED and was in reality a cropped photo of a staged scene in which the uncropped picture showed people on the sidelines laughing and watching the fleeing persons and capturing them on camera, while others stood completely nonchalant at a distance in the background.
2) A photograph of Prabhakaran purportedly watching a TV broadcast of his own body being found and laughing, which was produced as evidence that he was still alive. However, it was clearly shown to be a doctored photograph of Prabhakaran from an earlier pic in which there was no TV on the shelf. The altered parallax lines of the floor moldings and cupboards clearly showed it to be a doctored photo.
3) A photo of a severed human head and body parts were published on the Internet as being fro m the North of Sri Lanka, but it was proven to be a photo that had been published at a much earlier date (date authenticated), and was from the Iraq war.
It is hoped that Channel4 will act as a responsible news organization and conduct a full inquiry into this weird video and its origins. It owes a full apology to Sri Lanka for the libelous misrepresentations therein
After Independence : Unprecedented development in the North
As peace returned to the once war torn Northern theatre, the people of the North today witness development projects in their areas, hitherto never ever witnessed since independence, Political Observers disclosed.

The ignorance to address the needs of the northern people by many previous governments, the Jaffna people claim led to uprisings that finally ended in terrorism."We are grateful to the President and his government for crushing the LTTE which continued terrorist acts despite attempts by the government to discuss peace moves", a senior citizen from Jaffna who have had his two sons killed by the LTTE had disclosed to a news agency in South East Asia.

De-mining process given priority in resettlement
As the government much concern on the maximum security of the civilians to be resettled, the de-mining process underway in the liberated areas are been given the priority in the resettlement agenda of the "Uthuru Wasanthaya " program.
The LTTE terrorists, once called themselves as the "sole representative" of the Tamil community, have heavily laid land mines in these areas to obstruct the humanitarian mission launched by the Sri Lankan security forces to liberate over 300,000 Tamil civilians from LTTE clutches.
Indian government has already extended their fullest corporation to the de-mining process sending logistical and manpower assistance.
Several foreign governments have also financially assisted the de-mining process launched by the Sri Lankan government over the past few months.
Northern rehabilitation moves fast
Thirty-five to forty percent of the 180 day 'Wadakkin Wasantham' (Northern Spring) resettlement and rehabilitation program spearheaded under the leadership of senior Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa MP has been completed, with 35 villages in Vavuniya now ready to receive IDPs for resettlement, Vavuniya GA Ms.P.S.M.Charles told the Sunday Observer. Statements relating to 100,000 prospective resettlers among the IDPs have already been forwarded to the security forces and the respective GAs for their confirmation and the resettlement process will begin immediately on receipt of the confirmations, she said.
Under the 'Wadakkin Wasantham' program IDPs will be resettled in Vavuniya, Jaffna, Mannar, Batticaloa and Trincomalee areas, she said.
IDPs belonging to the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts would not be resettled immediately for reasons of their own security, she said.
The resettlement of 3,525 IDPs in Vavuniya scheduled for resettlement today (Sunday) in the Trincomalee district has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances and the resettlement will take place shortly, the GA stated. This is the single largest batch of Vavuniya IDPs to be resettled in Trincomalee, she said.
Every effort was being made to resettle a maximum number of IDPs in their former villages before the monsoonal rains expected in the first week of October, well-informed sources of the Ministry of Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services said.
Massive explosive detections on information gleaned from suspectsTigers still taking cover among IDP’s says IGP
By Shamindra Ferdinando
The police said that there was irrefutable evidence that many LTTE cadres, including hardcore operatives, continued to take refuge among civilians accommodated at welfare centres in the Vavuniya region.
The police top brass Friday (August 28) said that interrogation of suspects taken from welfare camps had led to a spate of recent detections in areas formerly under LTTE control.
At a Police Headquarters press briefing on Friday (August 28), IGP Jayantha Wickremaratne said that since the collapse of the LTTE last May, the police had made substantial recoveries on information provided by LTTE suspects.
One of the biggest detection had been made on August 21 when an LTTE suspect led the police to a buried arsenal comprising 114,000 rounds of pistol (.45) ammunition, 27,990 rounds of 5.56 ammunition and 5,368 rounds of 23 mm ammunition at Vallipuram, he said.
A smiling IGP said that the recovered stock of pistol ammunition would be adequate to meet police requirement for several months.
Detailing ongoing police operations in the areas previously held by the LTTE as well as in the South, the police chief asserted that had the LTTE been given an opportunity to use the amount of explosives and other armaments recovered by the police alone, about 100,000 people would have been massacred.
He said that the Central Range Intelligence Unit, too, had recovered six LTTE boats laden with 970 kgs of C4 plastic explosives buried in the eastern Vanni. The recovery made on August 1 on information elicited from an LTTE cadre masquerading as a civilian in a Vavuniya welfare camp was one of the biggest detections in the recent past, he said.
Although the IGP steered clear of political issues relating to nearly 300,000 persons held in detention, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa told The Sunday Island that the government would not open up welfare camps without screening people.
"Had we released all, those terrorists masquerading as civilians would start exploding bombs," he said accusing the opposition and a section of the international community of playing politics with a purely security issue.
Wickremaratne said that national intelligence services had also recovered 2,500 kgs of C4 plastic explosives, 53,000 detonators, 30,000 primers, 19,306 rounds of ammunition for 14.5 mm anti-aircraft guns, 53,550 rounds of 12.7 and 12,810 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition on June 30.
In a separate detection on August 8 in the Puthukudirippu area, the police had found two buried container loads of candles to be used in the manufacture of anti-personnel mines and hand grenades, he said, adding the recovered items included a large stock of shoes and belts.
Items recovered since the end of war included communication equipment, locally made mortars, anti-personnel mines and a machine used in what he called the ``mortar manufacturing process.’’
He appreciated the work carried out by different arms of the department, particularly the Colombo Crime Division, Central Range Intelligence Unit, Terrorist Investigation Division and the CID. They had made a significant contribution in anti-terrorist operations.
Responding to queries, the police chief and police spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediweka urged the media not to paint a bad picture over a spate of recent incidents involving police officers. Of some 75,300 officers and men in the department, only a few had caused trouble.
Wickremaratne assured that disciplinary and legal action would be taken against any officer found guilty of misconduct.
The IGP said that the police had also located a boat used by Sea Tigers to carry out surveillance on the Galle harbour before mounting an attack a few years ago. The trawler worth about Rs. 3 million and a lorry also used to facilitate the same operation, too, had been seized, he said.
He estimated the total weight of explosives recovered since January 2007 at over 4,000 kgs with C4 plastic explosives topping the recoveries. According to him, 1,663 kgs of C4 explosives, 443 kgs of TNT, 942 kgs of claymore mines, 92 kgs of suicide belts and jackets and 815 kgs of anti-personnel and land mines.
A Happy day which gave an icing on the cake for patriotic sri lankans.
KP ARRESTED what a news! 8/7/2009 10:13:38 AM
Most wanted LTTE terrorist for International Police (Interpol) and local security divisions Kumaran Padmanadan alias KP has been taken in to custody by Sri Lankan law enforcement authorities, defence sources revealed.
The suspect is known to be responsible for cross-boarder terrorist activities of liberation Tiger of the Tamil Elam (LTTE).
http://www.defence.lk/new.asp?fname=20090806_11
LTTE’s self appointed leader after the annihilation of its top leadership and the organization’s long term international arms procurer Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP had been arrested in an East Asian country following a joint intelligence and military operation by a Sri Lankan team, defence sources confirmed last night.
Government Defence Spokesman and Minister Keheliya Rambukwella speaking to Rupavahini last night confirmed the arrest of KP and said it was a big blow to the remaining foreign network of the LTTE.
According to defence sources the arrest had been made following weeks long intelligence operation in East Asia by several teams from Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan intelligence and military teams with the help of authorities in those countries had arrested and interrogated several LTTE operatives in East Asia who had been in contact with Pathmanathan. KP had been arrested on Wednesday night based on information extracted from them.
The state television Rupavahini broke the news last night and announced that Kumaran Pathmanathan had been arrested. Fifty four year old Pathmanathan is on Interpol's most wanted list for various charges including arms smuggling and criminal conspiracy. He is also wanted by India in connection with the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991 and for violation of the Terrorist Act and the Indian Explosive Act.
Pathmanathan was one of the top LTTE officials and the chief procurer of arms for the organization. He ran a global network of LTTE offices which were engaged in its weapons procurement, logistics and money laundering operations. Initially based in Malaysia, where he set up a shipping company in 1987, he was forced to move out after the Malaysian Special Branch cracked down on LTTE activities in the country in 1990, culminating in the seizure of an LTTE ship the same year. Pathmanathan then moved to Thailand, which became a safe haven for the LTTE. There he established himself as the head of banking, procurement and shipping for the LTTE. He is believed to have obtained citizenship of Thailand.
On an earlier occasion in 2007 there were conflicting reports from Thailand that Pathmanathan had been arrested on September 11, 2007. The reports were preceded by the detention in Ranong Province of three other LTTE operatives the month before, for trying to buy guns and 45,000 rounds of ammunition.
Kumaran Pathmanathan also known as KP is now being questioned in Colombo. The Hindustan Times today quotes MP Basil Rajapaksa as saying KP was flown down to Colombo following his arrest although details of how arrest was conducted was not revealed.
Pathmanathan had met with two visitors from London, England at a hotel room in KL in the afternoon of August 5th.
He had received a call on his cellular phone. KP had then signaled to his visitors that he was going out to the corridor and walked away while conversing on the phone.
He had not returned for a long time and the when the worried visitors from Britain went out in search there was no sign of the new global tiger chief.
Meanwhile the friend who had been talking to KP on the phone had heard a sudden thud and some noise while chatting. The phone went dead and repeated calls were not successful.
The friend then alerted some assistants of KP in Malaysia who went in search of KP to the place where he was staying in KL. The place was empty but KP’s insulin and syringes and other medical stuff was still there.
The visitors from London also got alarmed and contacted circles close to KP.
Meanwhile KP seized in Malaysia was taken to Bangkok in Thailand.
Sri Lankan authorities were contacted and a team from the Police Terrorist Investigation Department flew to Bangkok in the early hours of Thurasday August 6th.
The team returned with Pathmanathan alias KP on a special flight on the same day.
KP was handcuffed and had a mask covering his head and face when disembarking from the plane at Katunayake Airport.
He was whisked away in a vehicle with tinted glasses to a high-security , secret location run by the terrorism investigation dept personnel.
KP is to be interrogated intensively by Sri Lankan anti-terrorist sleuths.
It is widely believed that the arrest was made possible through “inside information” supplied by some members of the LTTE abroad who were opposed to KP donning the tiger leadership mantle after the demise of supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran.
New LTTEleader Selvarajah Pathmanathan aka KP, who was arrested overseas and brought to Colombo on Thursday, has begun to divulge vital information about the LTTE and himself.
The Island learns that the entire operation was handled by Sri Lankans.
Sources described KP in captivity as rattled and co-operative, though he had been projected by the pro-LTTE media as a tough man.
Exactly where KP was arrested is not yet known. According to initial reports he was nabbed in Thailand, but the Thai press says the Thai government is unaware of any such arrest and has ordered a probe into the reports at issue. LTTE activists overseas insist that KP was arrested in Malaysia. They say a charter flight was used to bring him to Katunayake, from where he was flown to a secret location in a military helicopter.
A top defence official contacted for comment declined to reveal where KPhad been taken in and how he had been brought to Sri Lanka. “What matters now is that he is in Sri Lanka,” the official said, “we took him and delivered him to the governmnet in one piece.”
Asked repeatedly at a press briefing in Colomb yesterday where the arrest had been made, Defence Spokesman and Minister of Foreign Employment Promotions and Welfare Keheliya Rambukwella refused to go into specifics. He curtly said KPhad been arrested in a Southeast Asian country.
The Sri Lankan government has indicated its willingness to hand over KP to India in connection with the Rajiv Gandhi assassination and other violations of the Indian law.
Minister Rambukwella said the government would certainly let New Delhi have KP if a request to that effect was made. He said no such request had been made so far.
Sources said KP, now being questioned at an undisclosed location, was spilling the beans on his local financiers who helped the LTTE buy arms and ammunition.
The government, sources said, was banking on KP’s arrest to elicit infomation on the LTTE’s gun running and narcotics operations which pose a threat to the entire region.

Sri Lanka is capable of defeating LTTE terrorism wherever it emerges- Defence spokesperson on KP's arrest
Sri Lankan forces, intelligence units and other defence authorities are capable of defeating LTTE terrorism wherever or whenever it tries to reemerge, says government Defence Spokesperson, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
Speaking at a special media briefing held at the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS), Colombo; Minister said that LTTE's self claimed leader after V. Prabhakaran and the outfit's head for international terrorist activities Kumaran Pathmanadan alias KP was arrested outside the island yesterday (Aug 6) and brought into the country this morning (Aug 7).
The Minister underscored the importance of the arrest as the removal of the remaining LTTE leader who tried to overshadow the country's victory over terrorism.
" Though we have successfully defeated LTTE in the battle, a seed of doubt was left in the minds of average persons that there was a possibility for KP to resume the terrorist activities , owing to the connection he had with international terrorist network.", said the Minister.
The Minister further pointed out that there has been a clear attempt by some of the unpatriotic
politicians to down play the forces victory over terrorism and to promote an idea that LTTE will make a comeback with KP's leadership.
"Our defence authorities have foreseen this situation, and proactively and determinedly taken action to defeat this and also taken the key LTTE remnant into custody", he said.
Also, he highlighted though the suspect was among the most wanted terrorist by many INTETPOL and various other foreign law enforcement agencies, it was the Sri Lankan authorities that finally located him.
Finally, the Minster pointed out the international support that Sri Lanka is currently having in her endeavor to curb terrorist activities. Though he did not divulge all the details of the arrest due to security reasons, he said that arrest was made a success due to the unreserved , and adequate support of the " international friends" of Sri Lanka.

Tamil tiger supporters live in New Zealand are now acting like cats on hot bricks seem to be completely agitated by this unexpected military onslaught against Tamil Tiger terrorists who have been carrying out more than 200 suicide bombings on civilian, military and economic targets to disrupt the normalcy in Sri Lanka.Tamil expatriates who live in New Zealand have been sending their hard earning money to LTTE terrorists to buy deadly arms and ammunitions to commit heinous atrocities against civilians in Sri lanka.Last Year Sri Lankan government successfully and militarily crushed LTTE menace in eastern part of Sri Lanka where now normalcy and democracy being restored by Sri Lankan government for all peace loving Sri Lankans.Innocent Tamil civilians who are trapped in side the government designated No Fire Zone currently fleeing from LTTE clutches into army control area amidst deliberate and indiscriminate LTTE gun fire on them preventing them leaving the No Fire Zone. Sri Lankan armed forces, who are well disciplined and concerned on this humanitarian mission to liberate innocent Tamil civilians from LTTE terrorists maintain a zero civilian casualty figure, recently opened few passages of army forward Defense lines allowing Tamil civilians to cross over.
As Dawn of new year arrived in Sri Lankan president Hon Mahinda Rajapaksha declared a humanitarian pause to this on going military operation and advised Armed forces to halt their military onslaught on LTTE rebels in order to let Tamil civilians to reach army control areas, Needless to say that LTTE rebels infiltrated in a remote area of eastern part of sri lankan village and killed 9 innocent civilians on cold blood, furthermore LTTE shelled Army forward defense lines
Killing Tamil civilians and wrongly asking sri lankan army to carry the can for this act of brutalism ,LTTE leadership never interested in the word peace or negotiating ,LTTE announced ceasefire periods in the past unilaterally to rearm and unleash lethal attacks on military and civilians targets ,pass sri lankan governments got snared into this trapped being repeatedly set by LTTE and every time pass sri lankan governments failed shutting the stable door when the horse bolted away showing sheer political ineptitude to solve this national problem. once bitten twice shy, these barbaric attacks on innocent civilians bear all the hallmarks of LTTE Tamil tiger terrorism which has been causing havoc in sri lanka. As you read this article the exodus of Tamil civilians crossing over to IDP camps in army control areas happen round the clock , once they reach this arduous journey braving LTTE gun fire, Tamil civilians are given and provided all he necessities and immediate medical care by sri lankan troops in accordance with international law often monitored by UN.most recently UN personal including Sir John Holmes visited those IDP camps and witnessed the improved conditions where well treated displaced Tamil civilians live happily after they fled from LTTE clutches. The secretary of united nation Ban Ki Moon has stated his extreme anguish over LTTE’s brutal way of keeping Tamil civilians as human shield not allowing them to crossover to government control areas. Furthermore he deprecated duress conscription of innocent Tamil civilians, mainly children putting harsh constraints of the LTTE on their deliverance of movement contravening international law. Reliable reports evince that barbaric LTTE rebels have hindered Tamil civilians fleeing LTTE tyranny by firing at them on cold blood and subsequently putting the blame on Sri Lankan army to carry the can and fall into the trap of genocide ploy, if Sri lankan armed forces commit genocide, How come more than 75000 Tamil civilians fled LTTE clutches since January 2009 and now happily live in IDP camps? LTTE rebels have killed their own Tamil civilians when they fled into government control area as a result of not obeying LTTE and within fem minutes those pictures being uploaded to pro LTTE websites around the world to hoodwink international communities to win sympathy for this most ruthless terror outfit in Sri Lanka.
More importantly, despite UN chief Ban Ki Moon repeatedly appealed LTTE to release Tamil civilians from LTTE grip allowing them to cross over to army control areas seemed flogging a dead horse for him, LTTE leadership turned his deaf ear to this appeal prolonging the agony of innocent Tamils for the survival of LTTE leader and his remaining fighters in NZF Zone. when the dawn of new year arrived on 14 of April Sri Lankan government declaired a 48 hours of cease fire allowing civilians to flee fighting, within few hours later barbaric LTTE rebels infiltrated into a remote village called Buththala in eastern pat of Sri Lanka massacred 9 villages including children, this can give international community about barbaric nature of these LTTE rebels who have no respect for humanity.
It’s a pity that Tamil Diaspora living around the world including in New Zealand casting spells of genocide and cease fire to ward off current military onslaught against LTTE and frantically trying to save the live of Interpol police most wanted terrorist leader Vellupille Prabakaran and his ruthless terror outfit. Most of Tamil Diaspora around the world is on asylum statues. If Sri Lankan government wipes out Tamil tiger rebels and restores democracy and normalcy in northern part as it did in eastern part, Those Tamil asylum seekers will lose their refuge statues and there will be a mass exodus of Tamil expatriates will be flying back to Sri Lanka. The real motive behind these false propaganda and smear campaign of Tamil Diaspora is to protect themselves rather than honestly caring about their Tamil people in No Fire Zone, Its water off duck’s back to government when LTTE Tamil supporters around the world shed crocodile tears and tell their untrue sob stories of genocide to go for a long period ceasefire that will keep the dying embers of LTTE alight to revive its brutalism again.LTTE Tamil tiger supporters never change their stripes wherever they inhabit ,they have one track mind of achieving their unrealistic eelam dream that has now been dashed by gallant sri lankan armed forces. If Tamils live around the world are genuinely worried about innocent Tamil civilians who are trapped in NFZ being kept as human shield by LTTE, They must urge LTTE to release the grip on them so that innocent Tamils can reach into government control area, Tamil expatriates around the world daily shed crocodile tears demanding a ceasefire to prolong the agony of innocent Tamil civilians who are currently trapped in NFZ.
LTTE had crafty ceasefire ploy to snare past government officials pulling the wool over their eyes to rearm and develop their terror tactics to unleash horrendous attacks on military, economic and civilian targerts.Unfortunately pass governments fell into LTTE traps several times and subsequently shutting the stable door after the horse bolted away displaying sheer political ineptitude to solve country’s long running national problem.
Hon president Mahinda Rajapaksha depicted his patriotism, charisma, braveness ever since he started this humanitarian mission to eradicate LTTE terrorism from our beloved motherland. He is country’s hero along with his gallant troops. Its time to turn a new leaf in Sri Lanka’s history. Today Tamils, Sinhalese, Muslims can see the light at the end of the tunnel, Elusive peace is within our grasp and all citizen soon will live in harmony.
Finally its time for Tamil Diaspora to realize that their dream of unrealistic separate Tamil eelam fantasy homeland has been dashed .Today LTTE rather seems to be an illegal bank which is in the red to pay off its promised dividends to its loyal, misled, deceived, heartbroken Tamil tiger supporters around the world who have been illegally and surreptitiously funneling their hard earning money back to this terror organization to archieve their independent separate eelam land .Those heartbroken LTTE supporters around the world will desperately strive to keep those dying embers of LTTE terror bonfire to revive and ignite to carry out its false propaganda against Sri lanka.Thereofere LTTE supporters may find a good breeding ground in New Zealand to carry on its terrorists activities to impart a new life into world most ruthless terrorist outfit better known by LTTE.So beware of those distinctive red roaring Tamil tiger terrorist flags being displayed with untrue fairy tail of genocide in public places to hoodwink New Zealand citizens, Finally we, Patriotic Sri Lankans in Auckland urge New Zealand government to take stern actions against LTTE and proscribe it soon. As you read this World’s largest hostage rescue mission is in progress to liberate innocent Tamil civilians from LTTE tyranny.

Patriotic sri lankans in Auckland against babaric LTTE
Around 500 patriotic Sri Lankan expatriates in New Zealand held a protest cum demonstration march condemning the LTTE’s use of innocent civilians as human shield and urging the terrorist outfit for the immediate release of those civilians held hostage, at Botany Downs intersection in Auckland, New Zealand on Monday (March 22).
The protest was organized by the United Sri Lanka Association (USLA) also aimed at exposing the brutality of LTTE terrorists who have mayhemed many innocent civilians in Sri Lanka. The organizing committee of the United Sri Lankan Association stated, “we are protesting against the venomous LTTE terrorist outfit which keeps innocent Tamil civilians as human shield not allowing them to cross over to government control area. Also, the demonstrators were all praise on the gallant security forces personnel defending Sri Lankan from the unholy separatist nexus. The protest lived up to the expectation of educating New Zealand citizens on the brutality of LTTE terrorist in Sri Lanka.
Few LTTE terrorist supporters’ cars draped in LTTE flags travelled in convoy along the side of the demonstration area, displaying the portraits of the INTERPOL’s most wanted terror chief Prabakaran. The anti-LTTE demonstrators continued with their demonstration undeterred despite provocation by pro-LTTE activists in New-Zealand.
However, heavy New Zealand police presence at the demonstration resulted in arresting two pro-LTTE activists and eventually LTTE supporters soon melted away. Finally committee members of USLA stressed that “this is the first step they have taken to fight against LTTE activities in New Zealand and similar protest will be organized in the future.”
LTTE Tamil Tiger Terrorists sympathisers in Auckland.
The protest was organized in line with Sri Lanka’s 61 Independence Day from Britain in 1948. Sri Lanka is on the verge of wiping out most dangerous and barbarous terrorists on the planet who have been mercilessly fighting with government forces in order to curve out a separate land for minority Tamils in northern and eastern part of Sri Lanka since 1972. Sri Lanka is a multi-cultural and multi-religious country. It is home to all communities who wish to live in Peace and harmony ,sadly sri lankans are gravely being affected by The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, better known by the acronym LTTE, carried out more suicide bombings than any other group in the world - more than Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Al-Qaeda combined.
LTTE has carried out a total over 200 suicide attacks causing heavy damage on civilians, economic and military targets. The LTTE pioneered the use of suicide jackets which are copied by many other terrorist Organizations worldwide.
LTTE is already proscribed as a terrorist organization by the United States, Britain, India, Australia and Malaysia and 32 countries. In the aftermath of 9/11 many countries proscribed the LTTE subsequently the EU followed in their footsteps proscribing it. Past Sri Lankan governments invited LTTE leader in a cordial manner to reach an amicable political solution to bring an everlasting peace which facilitated often by international community. Pretty sadly LTTE made u turns few times to hoodwink past Sri Lankan government that showed zero interest in peace while committing atrocities behind the cease fire against innocent civilians to terrorize and massacre them mercilessly, As many such peace-initiatives in the past have failed to bring peace to Sri Lanka, LTTE is now hoisted by its own petard heading for its waterloo imminently completely being boxed and pushed against the wall against the advancing sri lankan troops who are on a humanitarian mission to liberate innocent civilians, who are being trapped as a human shield by LTTE tyranny ,As a result of that Mass exodus of civilians flee and cross over to Sri Lankan army controlled area despite indiscriminate and intentional flurry of gun fire and Artillery fire by LTTE on civilians to reach safe area.
LTTE still keeps them as human shield as you read this article. Last year government troops successfully liberated eastern part of Sri Lanka which was under LTTE control terrorizing the lives of people who lived there, subsequently large number of civilians returned to those newly liberated area and now live without fear of being conscripted, intimidated, and extorted by LTTE rebels. After complete wipe out of this LTTE menace in north of sri lanka finally hon. sri lankan president will look for a political settlement to the ethnic problem to ensure aspirations of all communities, including ethnic Tamils, are taken care of within a united Sri Lanka which already prevails in eastern province after the defeat of LTTE terrorism. inevitably Many can observe LTTE supporters around the world carry out their international smear campaign to discredit Sri Lankan president and his splendid effort to bring an everlasting peace to this beautiful paradise, Sri Lanka appeals international communities to keep a special tabs on those fishy LTTE activities which are operated on foreign soil, Although the LTTE is banned it has front groups Under the guise of raising funds for orphanages, education and rehabilitation programs, more importantly new Zealand turned a new leaf in terms of going to the right path to designate LTTE as a terrorist group.
Last year New Zealand government officials declared to freeze funding the pro-LTTE Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) following a TV review made by the prominent New Zealand TV channel. New Zealand based activities of the internationally proscribed terror front organization this was raised in response over concerns about the use of New Zealand taxpayers` money by TRO which is banned by the U.S for alleged links to the Tamil Tiger rebel group. The LTTE terrorists have been listed as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S for 10 years. In 2007 the U.S froze the funds of the TRO revealing it was a front group raising money for equipment and weapons for the internationally proscribed terrorist outfit to kill innocent civilians in Sri Lanka these front groups raise money from international community surreptitiously and discreetly often run by Tamils sympathetic to the LTTE.
Sri Lanka is setting a great example for other countries in terms of fighting terrorism to its extinction. furthermore On 4th February Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksha delivered an Independence Day massage with patriotic utterances ” as a father of three children I have a great responsibility on my shoulder to liberate innocent people form LTTE tyranny specially Tamil youths who are forcefully conscripted and abducted into LTTE child soldier brigade depriving of their education and freedom to live as normal.”
Since LTTE is on the verge of being defeated militarily by courageous and brave Sri Lankan army, international landscape has significantly changed for LTTE tightening the noose around its neck.
The question we, peace loving Auckland Sri Lankans ask from the New Zealand government is, "Do you still allow a group of people who support world’s ruthless banned terrorist outfit known as LTTE to display symbols of terrorists' flags, or portraits of interpol most wanted terrorist leader in New Zealand ? Do you allow banned terrorist group members sympathetic to LTTE to desecrate the Sri Lankan flag in public place on her independence day? Do you allow NGO organization like Global Peace and Justice Auckland to facilitate a rally for Tamil Tiger supporters to desecrate our national flag and burn it?
Thirty two nations of the world have criminalized the activities of LTTE in their own countries by imposing a criminal proscription on LTTE activities to curb the immense amount of propaganda, illegal fund raising and other criminal activities.
As peace loving and law abiding Sri Lankans we earnestly ask NZ government to take stern steps to ban LTTE in NZ.
