46 More Rehabilitated Ex-LTTE Members Reintegrated
Another group of ex-LTTE members rehabilitated at the Thelippalai Rehabilitation centre in Jaffna joined their families on Sunday (11). A function to hand them over to their relatives was held at the Jaffna Weerasingham Hall Sunday afternoon. Those newly reintegrated persons, 41 males and 5 females, underwent vocational training programme arranged by the Bureau of Commissioner General Rehabilitation (BCGR) at different centres to ensure a better living for them in the society.
Meanwhile, Rehabilitation Authority has launched a loan scheme for rehabilitated ex-LTTE members to start self employments after reintegration. Under this loan scheme, some males and females from all districts of the Northern Province received their cheques during the same function.
Hon. Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Mr. Chandrasiri Gajadheera, Secretary to the Ministry Mr. A. Dissanayake, Government Agent Jaffna Mrs. Emelda Sukumar, Chairman Rehabilitation Authority Mr. E.A. Samarasinghe, Commissioner General Rehabilitation Major General Chandana Rajaguru, Senior military officers and a large crowd of civilians attended the function.
