Pro-Tiger hidden hand behind Moon's Committee report - Minister Keheliya
Minister of Mass Media and Information Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella has said there is a hidden hand behind the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon's advisory committee report. The Minister has pointed out that this baseless report has been prepared completely ignoring the massacres carried out by the tiger terrorists for over 30 years, the properties they destroyed, abductions and other cruelties including mass murders of Buddhist priests, murder of innocent worshippers of other religious places, murder of school children etc., inflicted by them.
The Minister has said that during the three decades of war due to the LTTE atrocities even the word of human rights became something disgusted. The LTTE atrocities, he has pointed out, were carried out over a period of 1572 weeks and this baseless report speaks only about the last two weeks completely ignoring the period covered by 1570 weeks.
Therefore, he has said that there is a clear proof that the LTTE elements were behind this report. The Minister has said that the groups that were backing the tiger terrorists during that period have joined together to agitate within Sri Lanka and in foreign countries to demand implementation of the baseless report. He has urged everyone to unite to counter all these attempts being made to discredit Sri Lanka. The Minister has said that steps have been taken locally and on international level to register the governments total rejection of this report. (niz)
