Navy apprehend another Australia bound boat

Sri Lanka Navy today discovered a multi-day fishing vessel, on which several persons were to attempt to flee the country seeking illegal entry into Australia. The boat along with four suspects was apprehended at 2.30 am today (10), Navy spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.In an operation carried out close on January 06, Sri Lanka Navy with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested 22 persons attempting to illegally travel to Australia from Rakawa, Tangalle.
