Lankans in France protest US move
Thousands of Sri Lankans living in France yesterday voiced their anger over
attempts by United States to meddle with the internal affairs of Sri Lanka by
moving a resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council’s (UNHRC) session
in Geneva. Sri Lankans in their thousands thronged to the area near the Eiffel
tower in Paris in protest of reactionary forces that are conspiring to revert
the country’s progress march after three decades of conflict.
The participants raised their voice against international conspiracies that
are aimed at deterring the country’s development drive.
This massive protest campaign organised by ‘Patriotic Sri Lankans in France’
also condemned attempts of Channel 04 to release another bogus video footage on
Sri Lanka when the UNHRC session is be held in Geneva. The participants also
lauded the countries that stood by Sri Lanka at the UNHRC session in Geneva in
the midst of vicious campaigns by the LTTE diaspora.
