All set for 3rd Victory Day Celebrations Arrangements have been finalized for the 3rd Victory Day Celebrations scheduled to be held on 19th May at the Galle Face in Colombo. Secretary Defence and Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited the venue to review the arrangements, today (17th May). The Secretary Defence was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff, Commanders of the three Forces and Senior Military Officers. The whole nation comes together to celebrate the victory over separatist terrorism which had engulfed the lives of all Sri Lankans in misery and anguish for three long decades during the Victory Day. Sri Lanka achieved what was thought to be unattainable, in 2009 when it routed out terrorism from the shores of the motherland once and for all. The main ceremony will be held under the patronage of His Excellency the President and Commander in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday.
