Pre-School for the Mullaitivu children

Fulfilling a timely need of the resettled Tamil community in Mullaitivu a Pre-School has been established by the security forces. The Pre-School named 'Bharathi' built in Kuruwil was constructed by security forces in Mullaitivu.

This Pre-School is specially caters to the need of the children of low income families in the Kuruwil area .

Study Packs for Wanni School children

Troops serving in Wanni in collaboration with the Lions Club donated school materials and sports equipments for the children in the area worth of rupees five hundred thousand at a function held recently.

The gift packs were distributed among 201 students of Periyamadu, Thachchanamarandamadu, Kirisuddan and Palampiddi schools. In addition to that 18 children of the Palampiddi Pre-School were also presented with the necessary schooling needs.

Under the government's programme to uplift the living standards of the resettled masses of the North a large number of welfare projects have been completed and many are nearing completion. These programmes are especially aimed at improving the education, health and agricultural sectors.
