Nalandians honour war heroes
www.defence.lk">Junior Old Boys Association of the Nalanda College yesterday, (02 Aug) organized a felicitation ceremony to honour fallen and disabled war heroes at the school.
The ceremony was held at the school for the 12th consecutive time.
In parallel to the event, the OBA arranged a lunch at Gall Face Hotel for the parents, spouses and children of war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa participated as the chief guest of the event at the hotel.
Speaking at the event the Secretary appreciated the organizers' efforts since, it would help educate the youth and recall what our valiant war heroes did to liberate the country from the curse of terrorism.
The Secretary also took time off from his busy schedule to mingle with relatives of fallen war heroes of Nalanda College.
Moreover, the Principal of Nalanda College presented a photo album of earlier events to the Secretary at the event.
Chairman of the Junior OBA Mr. Ravi Hettiarachchi, senior officers of armed services and Police of Nalanda College were also present at the event.
