Tamil speaking accountants to be recruited in North and East

The government is to hold a competitive examination to recruit accountants proficient in Tamil language to serve in the North and East.
Acting on a proposal put forward by the President, as the Minister of Finance and Planning, the Cabinet yesterday has approved conducting a special competitive examination for Grade III Vacancies of the Accountants' Service in Northern and Eastern Provinces to fill 63 vacancies.
According to the provisions of the Service Minute of the service it's mandatory to select a batch of officers with language proficiency to meet the expectations of the general public living in those areas.
The appointed officers are required to serve a minimum compulsory period of ten years in the Northern and Eastern Provinces
