'Api Wenuwen Api' project:

Another 95 War Heroes to get houses today



Under the eleventh phase of the Api Wenuwen Api housing project for War Heroes, 95 houses already completed in the Ratnapura district are to be handed over to War Heroes, today. This special occasion will be held at the grounds of Udumaththa Mihindu Maha Vidyalaya, Ratnapura under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Defence and Urban Development Ministry has launched the Api Wenuwen Api housing project to uplift the living standards of War Heroes and their families by assisting them build their own houses.

This project is being conducted under the guidance and close supervision of Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Ayoma Rajapaksa to build new houses for War Heroes and their families isladwide.

The Api Wenuwen Api housing programme has already been launched in Kandy, Kurunegala, Matara, Hambantota, Monaragala, Badulla, Galle, Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Kalutara, Kegalle, Polonnaruwa and Gampaha.

Under the eleventh phase 57 Sri Lanka Army, 24 Sri Lanka Navy and 14 Sri Lanka Air Force War Hero families will receive the keys to their new houses from the President
