UNHRC condemned for being pro-terrorist
The Parents of the Dead and Missing Persons Front condemned the
United Nations Human Rights Council for its bias attitude for the world's
ruthless terrorist organization and failing to look into the plight of the
people who became victimized and destitute due to the brutal activities of the
terrorist organization.
Addressing a media conference in Colombo Wednesday (13) they
said that the UNHRC should not only look into the activities of the ruthless
terrorist organization which inhumanly murdered even children by forcibly
dragging them to the war but also they should focus their attention on the Tamil
National Alliance which assisted the terrorist organization, and acted as a
proxy of the terrorists and publicly claimed that the terrorists are the sole
representatives of the Tamils.
They said that instead of acting unilaterally the UNHRC should
focus their attention on the injustices caused to several thousand people in Sri
Lanka. The convener of the movement Ananda Perera revealed to the media that as
per data collected by their organization that during the period from 1987 up to
2005, 21,875 persons have been killed in the army alone and 3,569 army personnel
have gone missing. The number of civilians who have gone missing during 1987 to
2009 amounts to 10,978. Ananda Perera said that a detailed report on this matter
was even forwarded to the High Commissioner of the UNHRC.
He said that special petitions have also been forwarded to the
UN office in Colombo and to the Presidential secretariat. Ananda Perera said
that they are planning to inform about this matter to the Speaker of Parliament
and the Tamil National Alliance on Friday. He said that they are going to meet
the Bishop of Jaffna on Monday and Tuesday and requested him to raise a voice
against the injustices caused by the LTTE to all nationalities of this country.
