Army Commander Expedites Keppapulavu Housing Project

During a recent itinerary, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Jayasuriya arrived at the modal village which is under constructions in Keppapulavu, Mullaittivu for resettled families.
Army has engaged in a process of building 165 new houses for resettled civilians in Keppapulavu.
Lieutenant General Jayasuriya during the visit at Mullaittivu paid a special attention to look over the construction project progress of new houses at Keppapulavu Model Village which has been undertaken by the Infantry troops of Security Force Headquarters (Mullaittivu).
Under the 1st phase, 50 houses will be completed and each house will be built in 40 perch land plots. On completion, each and every resettled family (165) will be shifted to these new houses, according to the plan and preparation of Ministry of Resettlement.
During the inspections, Commander instructed to increase the number of working-hands to expedite the process. Meanwhile, the visiting Commander seeing the notable progress finishing 40 new houses, showed his appreciation to the troops for their admirable work extending free labour and doing accelerated work for the benefit of the resettled Tamil civilians.
Plans are afoot to hand over completed 40 new houses near soon.
