'Channel 4 on a contract to destroy Lanka's image'

Channel 4 is on an unsuccessful campaign to destroy the image of Sri Lanka before the international community, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W.D.J.Seneviratne said. The minister said a number of Western countries including America are to present a certain proposal against Sri Lanka at the United Nations Human Right Council (UNHRC) sessions in Geneva.

This will be a good opportunity for Sri Lanka to identify its true friend among the international community , he said . "Sri Lanka Suffered by terrorism for over three decades . President Mahinda Rajapaksa defeated terrorism with the help of the security forces and at present they have created a peaceful environment in our country . This has been a huge problem for certain international elements and now these elements are trying to criticize our country and damage its good image .", Minister Seneviratne said.

"Certain Western elements are trying to bring war crimes charges against President Rajapaksa while destroying the good name of the Tri-forces. They are trying to trivialize the great victory of Sri Lanka which eradicated terrorism from the country. Britains , Channel 4 is on a contract to destroy Sri Lanka's image before the international community. They proved it repeatedly via several films and fake video clips. Their latest film is "No fire zone" is also designed to damage Sri Lanka's image, the minister said.
