Resettlement of IDPs in Jaffna completes
With the resettlement of IDPs at Kevil village in Jaffna on last Sunday (3rd July) the government has completed all the resettlement in Jaffna peninsula.
At the final stage the IDPs were resettled in Vadamarachchi East under the patronage of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa and the houses were constructed by the Sri Lankan'sArmy. All the infrastructures such as electricity, roads, water, and transport and livelihood assistance were supplied to them by the government.
Accordingly the government has completed the resettlement process in Jaffna and all IDPs who left their original houses during the war have come back to their previous places
