Sri Lanka government says that major part of the Tamil Diaspora is now pleased with the government’s activities relating to improvement of the living standards of the Tamil people in the Northern and Eastern Provinces following liberating the Tamils from the shackles of the jackboots of the Pirabaharan.
Government spokesman Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that Tamil Diaspora is now divided into two groupsand the people who were forced to help terrorist activities financially are now willing to contribute to the welfare of theirbrethrens in the North and East. Referring to Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP, the Minister said that he was the person who was responsible for raising funds for the purchase of military material for the terrorist outfit “he too (referring to KP )has realized the past follies and has joined the group who is willing to help in the development activities.” Said Mr. Rambukwella.Mr. Rambukwella explained that the prevailing Laws allow that the government can enlist any person as a “crown witness” in the interestof the country and give protection in the best interest of the country and for the country’s progress.
