More Ex-LTTE Combatants to be released

The Ministry of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms has taken steps to release 800 Tamil youth upon completion of their rehabilitation program at the Pompamadu and Punethottam rehabilitation camps in Vavuniya.
According to the Ministry sources, a ceremony will take place at the Vavuniya Urban Council grounds on June 5 and arrangements have been made to have a cricket match on June 4 to coincide with this event.
This programme is aimed to link-up the North and South on a permanent basis while completely freeing the Tamil youth from the war psychosis.
The ceremony will be graced by Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Rehabilitation and Prisons Reforms Chandrasiri Gajadheera and those rehabilitated and their parents.
