Houses for Mullaithivu people

Four houses were donated to the needy families in Mullaithivu recently by the Shanthi Foundation. The constructed work was carried out by Security Forces personnel in Mullaithivu.

The beneficiaries were from Silawatta Grama Seva division who had gone through much hardship due to LTTE atrocities during the war.

Officials of the Shanthi Foundation, The Security Forces Commander Mullaithivu, Senior Security Forces Officials and the villagers were present at the event.


Housing aids

Under the resettlement programme 150 families in Kelebogaswewa in Vavuniya South were provided with cement bags and roofing sheets. This assistance was provided in order to help those families to uplift their living standards. The Ministry of Resettlement had provided the materials.

Each resettled family in the region received 12 roofing sheets and 8 bags of cement to renovate their houses.

Vavuniya South Divisional Secretary, State officials, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni and resettled families were present at occasion.

Another seminar for GCE (O/L) students

A series of GCE O/L seminars were conducted by the 211 Brigade Headquarters under the Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) to coincide with its 28th anniversary.

More than 900 students from Ulukkulama Sirisumana Maha Vidyalaya, Madukanda National School and Vavuniya Perayakomarshakulam Maha Vidyalaya attended the seminar. The programme was conducted in collaboration with several non-governmental organizations and the CIMA institute.

The seminar was held at the Vavuniya Perayakomarshakulam Maha Vidyalaya drew more than 360 students.

Senior Security forces officials, Education Department Officials, teachers and parents were present at the inaugural occasion.

Blood donation

A blood donation campaign was carried out by the 211 Brigade Headquarters of SFHQ-W recently. It was conducted as a part of the anniversary celebrations. About 120 Army personnel donated blood for the betterment of the patients of the Vavuniya Base Hospital.

Rugby Coaching Camp for Jaffna students

A Rugby Coaching Camp was conducted for students in Jaffna on Saturday (November 17th) at the Duraiappah Stadium by Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J) in association with "Sabaragamuwa Stallions" Sports Club.

Under the patronage of the Commander SF-J, the Sabaragamuwa Stallions extended their fullest support along with the security forces personnel with a view of uplifting the sports skills among students of Jaffna.

Seventy six male and female students from Manippay Hindu College, Jaffna Central College, Jaffna St. Patrick's College, Kayts St. Anthony's College, Kolombuthurai St. John's College, Mathagal St. Joseph's Girls' College and Chavakachcheri Hindu College interestingly participated at the coaching camp.
