Jobs for resettled youth


Under an army initiative to assist the reintegration and economic uplifment of the resettled community in the Mullaitivu district, 25 resettled youth have received employment at Sri Lanka Mobiltel, the national mobile services provider. In response to a request made by military authorities Sri Lanka Mobitel has recruited these youth who have fulfilled the required qualifications to work at their newly established regional centres.

The military has initiated a number of programmes to assist the resettled people to rebuild their lives again The new career would reward these youth with a monthly remuneration of Rs 20000.00 to Rs 25000.00 allowing them to maintain a decent living standard.

The opening ceremony of the regional contact center was held on 01st November with the participation of Hon Member of Parliament Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, CEO of Mobitel Telecom Mr. Lalith De Silva, Security Forces Headquarters Commander (Mullaithivu) Maj. Gen LBR Mark and senior military officials.
