Mr. Robert Blake calls on Secretary Defence
Robert O. Blake, Jr., the Assistant Secretary for Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the U.S. State Department today, (04 May) called on Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa at his office.
Before his departure to Sri Lanka, on 29 April in an interview with Press Trust of India (PTI) Mr. Blake told that his country has wider relations with Sri Lanka than the much-talked about United Nations Expert Panel report on Sri Lanka.
Yesterday, he visited former LTTE controlled areas of Northern Sri Lanka to observe the progress of the post-war development in those areas. He also visited Mullaitivu to get a firsthand look at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded projects in the former LTTE stronghold.
US Ambassador to Sri Lanka H.E. Ms. Patricia Butenis and LTC Lawrence Smith also present at the meeting
