They are no longer among us to savour the joy of victory, but they shall forever live in the hearts of a grateful people who yearned for freedom for 30-long years. President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the War Heroes Memorial near the Parliament Complex to pay the nation’s tribute to these fallen heroes on Friday, as part of events marking the second anniversary of the victory over terrorism.
