Development projects should not be abandoned –President

(Colombo Lankapuvath) The benefits of all the development projects launched by the Government should be for the public of the country said President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Addressing the Sabaragamuwa Progress Review meeting held at the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council today (31) he said that each cent earned by the government should be allocated for the welfare of the public.
The development drive for the Sabaragamuwa province “Sabaragamuwa Arunalokaya” which is under the “Mahinda Chinthana” was also launched today while discussions were held in regard to the economic and social development of the area as well.
The President mentioned that the citizens of the country have developed a great faith in the Government’s development projects and that the projects which are launched should not be abandoned due to lack of funds and foundation stones for such projects should not be laid he said.
The President instructed the Authorities to expedite the re-construction work of the roads and bridges while relevant authorities were instructed to reap as much the harvest that can be gathered during the Yala season. Measures would also be taken to provide the needed water facility for farming purposes.
President also emphasized on the necessity of providing necessary facilities for the children in the area and said that putting up buildings within play grounds prevented the children from the right to sports.
There should be a revival in the Agriculture sector more that in the Industrialization mentioned President Rajapaksa.
All development projects launched in the area should be expedited and completed said President Rajapaksa.
