Troops recover more weapons in clearing operations

Sri Lankan troops of 56 Division recovered 21 AP mines (RANGAN 99) and 16 AP mines (P4 MK 1) during the clearing operations done in general area Navatkulam and Mahilankulam yesterday (31 August) 2010.
Meanwhile OC Troops (Wanni) engaging the clearing operations in general area Parasankulam recovered 08 AP mines (P4 MK 1) and 08 AP mine fuses and the troops of 611 Brigade recovered 171 AP mines during their search operations in general area Maruthamadu and Malvarayankaddaiadamppan yesterday.
Separately troops of 215 Brigade recovered six AP mines during the clearing operations they did in general area Kollankulam.
Troops of 681 Brigade engaging the clearing operations in general area Wellamulliwaikkal recovered one T-81mm weapon , one T-81mm mag, 14 x 60mm mortar bombs , 09 x 60mm mortar fuses , 64x 40mm Grenade Launcher , 165 AP mines , 160 AP mine fuses , 2600 x 5.56mm x 45 RDS , 393 x 12.7mm RDS , 15 x C4 chargers , 15 detonators and 02 Argus hand grenades yesterday.
The troops of the same Brigade recovered four boxes of 14.5mm RDS , 320 x 14.5mm belt links, four boxes of 12,7 mm RDS and four OBMs in another part of the area.
