Wanni Resettled gets more assistance


A number of measures have been taken to uplift the living standards of the newly resettled people at Bogaswewa in Wanni. Under the programme 300 push bicycles, 200 fishing nets, 3500 coconut saplings, 200 mosquito nets and cement bags were distributed among the people at an event presided over by Parliamentarian Hon. Namal Rajapaksa on 11th February.
Foundation stones were also laid for a school building and a Public Health Service Center. Electricity posts to facilitate the supply of electricity to the village was also planted by Hon. In addition to that clutches and wheel chairs were presented to needy persons by the Social Services Department. He also made a visit to the Kokeliya Ranaviru Piyasa, Agbopura and Bogaswewa re-settlements projects.
Venerable Maha Sanga, Security Forces Commander (Wanni), government officials and a large number of people were present at the function.
