Wanni resettled gets more assistance


On par with the 65th National Independence Day celebrations Sri Lanka Army donated gift packs worth one million rupees to the people in Kelebogaswewa in Wanni at a function held in this regard on 03rd February.

About 100 families were gifted with packs of dry ration during the function. More than 150 school children in the area were presented with gift packs including school bags, exercise books, school shoes and other schooling needs.

In order to assist the newly resettled people in Wanni Sri Lanka Army has initiated a number of programmes to ensure their welfare. Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities are highly benefited by the social initiatives taken by the Security Forces.

The donated was sponsored by the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress.

Venerable Maha Sanga, senior military officers, members of the all Ceylon Buddhist Congress and a large number of people were present at the occasion.
