Tamils in Netherlands to hold pro-Lanka demo in Geneva

Sri Lankan Tamils in Netherlands are willing to rally round and show solidarity with the government of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan ambassador to Netherlands Buddhi Athauda said. "Tamils living in Netherlands protested against certain pro - LTTE groups who spread diabolical lies against the Sri Lankan government and say that they are willing to hold a demonstration in support of Sri Lanka in March," the ambassador said.

He said the Dutch people were ignorant of the real situation in Sri Lanka and they only know what is fed to them through pro- LTTE websites.

"The Dutch people who visit Sri Lanka have a good image of the country but those who have not, has another image about the country. The Dutch take pride in visiting Sri Lanka which they once ruled.

Relations between Sri Lanka and Netherlands dates back 400 years," the ambassador said.
