All Provincial roads will be developed next year - President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the budget for year 2011 to be presented in Parliament in November will reflect and represent the will and wishes of the masses.
The President Mahinda Rajapaksa attended to series of events in the Polonnaruwa district on Saturday. The President chaired the Polonnaruwa District Development Council Meeting with the participation of both Provincial and national level administrative officials as well as politicians in Polonnaruwa,President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that provisions would be made available in the next budget to develop the country’s provincial road network in accordance with the highest quality standards.“Required funds will be allocated to repair and develop all provincial roads in the country next year and thereafter there should be no need for funds to be allocated in the next 20 years to develop such provincial roads” said President elaborating the need to carry out the construction work with high quality.Responsibility of maintaining a road structure in accordance with the required standards was vested with the Provincial Councils, local state administrators and politicians.President Rajapaksa emphasized on ensuring quality and sustainability when developing roads and advised officials that the roads developed should at least last the next 15 to 20 years without further repair.
