Army Troops In the WANNI Area conducting clearing operations in the Army 61 Division are on Tuesday (24) recovered 01 x US(unserviceable ) AP mine from VAVUNIKULAM while the Savatra De-mining Organization recovered 121 x "Jony" AP mines from PARASANKULAM while in the MANNAR area, the MAG De-mining Organization also recovered 54 x AP mines and 2 x UXOs from NEDUNKANDAL . Meanwhile, Army Troops in 57 Division area in KILLINOCHCHI recovered a claymore mine (US)weighting 12.5 kg, a (US) RPG HE bomb , 1000 rounds of ( US) ammunition (7.62x 39) and 40 (US) mortar bombs while Troops conducting clearing operations recovered 02 x RPG HEAT bombs, 02 x 60 mm mortar bombs, 02 x US) Argus hand grenades and 01 x 82- 2(US) hand grenades from VELLAMULLIVAIKAL, MULLAITIVU yesterday (24) . Troops also recovered one 9.9 HP outboard motor, 02 RPG HEAT bombs and twenty three 81 mm WP smoke bombs from AMPALAVANPOKKENI in the 68 Division area.
