Indian Naval Chief calls on Secretary Defence
Indian Naval Chief Admiral Verma paid a courtesy call to Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa Monday (June 28) morning, at the Ministry of Defence in Colombo.

Discussions were held between the two officials to promote bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries while, enhancing security in the Indian Ocean region. Admiral Verma is on a five day official visit to the island nation, first by an Indian top military brass since defeat of the LTTE terrorist outfit. Exchanges of plaques were also made between the officials marking the occasion.

The Indian Naval Chief was also accompanied by Sri Lankan Naval Chief Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, Commander Western Naval Area Rear Admiral Damayantha Dharmasiriwardena including officials of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka and Defence Attache(DA) Captain Pradeep Singh.
