Rahabilitated tiger cadres begin a new life

Rehabilitated female LTTE cadres have begun vocational training in the Garment sector. An apparel company has come forward to grant training to young women who had entered society after being rehabilitated in the past at several centres countrywide.
Soon after the war with terrorists ended the government started a rehabilitation program for young tiger cadres who left the force in the last days of the war. They were trained and rehabilitated at 15 such training camps. As they now mingle with the society the authorities have already closed down eight of the fifteen rehabilitation camps.550 young women commenced vocational training at garment factory in Alawwa. A special ceremony in this connection was held under the patronage of Minister Dew Gunasekera and Deputy Minsiters Vijith Vijayamuni Soysa and Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan.They will be directed to various sectors after training.
