UN assistance for rehabilitation continues

The United States is extending more aid to resettle people in the North.It has provided aid amounting to 423 million rupees under the U.S food programme to provide agricultural equipment and fishing gear. Small agricultural tools, fishing gear as well as more than 100 tractors for clearing and preparing the fields.
These are being provided under the Uthuru Wasanthaya programme. The Government has decided to continue the programme until the end of next year.
