Peace Walk From Devundara to Point Pedro

A PEACE walk has been initiated as an encouragement to War Heroes to mark the dawn of peace in the country on conclusion of the 30 years long war, from Devundara to Point Pedro.The peace walk had proceeded to Puliyankulam in Vavuniya on Wednesday (9) night and proceeded yesterday (10) from Puliyankulam Gajaba Regiment camp.The walk designed for a 28 day duration had already completed 22 days. The organizer of the walk Ruwan Nishantha stated that the purpose of the walk was to invoke blessings on the President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the War Heroes who were instrumental in ushering in peace and prosperity to the country.The walk was planned on a concept of the Hambantota M.P. Namal Rajapaksa with the cooperation of Major General Kamal Gunaratne Commander Security Forces Wanni and Brigadier Napagoda.
